Welcome From the Head of Key Stage Three Mrs. Rania Khalil
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am delighted to welcome you and your child to Year 8 at King Henry VIII College. As the Head of Year 8, I am honoured to be part of this significant forward step in your child's educational journey. The year will be filled with new experiences that your child will find both enriching and enjoyable.
Moving into Year 8 is an important step in your child’s educational journey here at King Henry VIII College. Having completed your first year in senior school, your child is now seen as role models for the incoming Year 7s. The Year 8 cohort should understand the expectations here at King Henry and be well versed in school routines. Your child should strive to be a caring and open-minded student for those around them.
The coming year is an opportunity for your child to widen their interests both in the classroom and out, leading them to look forward to the future. There is a wide range of Cross-Curricular Activities (CCAs) provided by the school and I am excited to see your child become a risk-taker and choose a CCA outside of their comfort zone. Year 8 will help define your child’s learner profile, which will instill confidence in all areas of the academic curriculum.
Communication between home and school is key to ensuring the success of our students. We value your involvement and welcome your input. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any member of our pastoral team if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We are here to work in partnership with you to support your child's journey through Year 8.
Throughout the year, we will keep you informed about school events, important dates, and your child’s progress. We encourage you to stay engaged with your child’s education and participate in school activities whenever possible.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Khalil
