I planned to take my first official SAT at the start of November, and I thought I needed to practice more to get my target score. I am aiming to get as high as I can. For the New York TImes contest, I wanted to improve my writing, and considering that the iGEM competition ends at the end of October, I thought I could do it at the same time.
SAT: 1400+
New York Times: explore different writing styles, take it as practice of college app’s essay, and if can, get an award
SAT: give myself weekly homework, and study vocab everyday, finish all the practice question available on AP college board.
New York Times: revise it at least once every week, keep drafting and revising
For SAT, it was hard to have consistency in my learning, but I overcame it by assigning myself weekly homework.
SAT: SAT prep book, vocab book, online resource such as Khan academy, the pdf that I have, pdf of pratice test.
