🗒️ Message from Andrew Terry, Principal
NCES Families,
We are at the finish line with just 7 more school days left(6 if you do not count today). Just some reminders as we close out the year:
Field Day - Monday, May 20th will be our big end-of-year event. We are switching things up with a full-day celebration. The students will have two sessions ( AM and PM) will have a break in the middle of the day with lunch times staying the same. V There is a volunteer luncheon provided by the PTA so if you are volunteering on that day or have volunteered you should have received an invite to that luncheon.
Parents eating lunch at school - We are going to put a pause on parents coming in for lunch Starting Wednesday, May 22-May 24. The last days of school are filled with so much for each class so this is to minimize disruption to the front office and classes, since many times they are doing class lunch bunch, etc...Just as a heads up that will be the same for the beginning of school. We ask that we wait until after Labor Day to invite parents to school lunch so that students can get reacclimated to school policies and procedures.
5th-grade Promotion - The promotion will be on Thursday, May 23 starting at 6:00 PM. Thank you to the PTA for all their support with the 5th grade reception.
Last Day of School - Please do not forget that the last day of school is Friday, May 24th! What an incredible first year for me and I will go ahead and say thank you to the families, students, and teachers! I am so blessed to be a part of the Norton Commons Elementary School family!

Our students worked so hard on KSA last week. We appreciate their efforts to do their best to show their learning on state testing! We will be completing any make ups this week.
Recurring Information
School begins at 8:40.
Students should be settled in their classrooms by 8:35.
There is a parent/student lunch area where you will be able to sit with your students to eat lunch. The student may invite one friend to eat lunch with you all. The lunch schedule is here. Photo ID required.
If you are interested in having your student participate in Blessings in a Backpack, please complete this form.
If you need clothes for your student from the Clothing Assistance Program (CAP), please complete this form.
Photo ID is always required when entering the building during the school day.
