🗒️ Message from Terry
There are so many things happening right now and there are only 27 days left to get all the things in. Knights on Parade, Teacher Appreciation Week, Beta Club Induction, KSA Testing, Field Day, 5th-grade promotion, and the last day of school. And that does not count all the teaching and learning that is still happening in every classroom.
Please take notice of a few things that are important:
Knights on Parade - What a great Derby festivity that the PTA has put on not only for the students to have so much fun but also to raise money for all the things that the PTA accomplishes for our students and staff. This group is stronger than ever and is representing NCES well. Please note that there will not be early dismissal after the Parade. We should be done with all the Parade festivities around 3:00 and school dismisses at 3:20 so please be patient as the students will return to their classroom and gather materials in preparation for their normal dismissal. Please be respectful of parking in the neighborhood. Thank you to all the families that have already supported this and we ask for a strong finish through this Friday.
Morning Drop-off and Afternoon Pick-up - There are some areas we need to address as we are dropping off students and picking up in the afternoon. If you are choosing to not use the carpool line or the bus system, please be aware of safety protocols when dropping off. For example, bus drivers are finding families parking on the bus drop-off side with children running across the street rather than using the crosswalk areas. For your student's safety and the safety of the drivers, please use crosswalks to get across the street. When parking in the morning or afternoon, please do not block the crosswalk area or park beyond the stop signs. Parking or blocking these areas causes a safety issue and again safety is our top priority.
