Join the PTSA for 2021-2022
March 10, 2021
Dear Brown School Family,
Please check our Special Edition: Returning to School edition of the Bear Essentials frequently for updated information. When the beginning of in-person learning/virtual learning academy nears for our middle and high school students, you will receive an additional alert to let you know that everything related to those levels has been added.
If for some reason you need to switch your student from in-person learning to virtual, or vice versa, we need you to reach out to your student's assistant principal! The system that JCPS has set up for you to make your choice does not send us a notification if you have changed your mind after your choice was made. So, if any elementary parents have changed their minds after Thursday, March 4th, please email Assistant Principal Shawn to let him know. Otherwise, your student will not be added to a new roster. Middle and high school students can still be switched at this time without notifying us; we will inform you of the cut-off date once we have set the rosters.
Thursday will be our SBDM meeting when we approve our budgets for the 2021-22 school year. The budgets are as follows: Instructional Materials Budget for FY22, Flexible Focus Funds for FY22, Sections 4 & 5 Budget Request for FY22, and Carl Perkins Budget for FY22. If you have any feedback, you are welcome to email me or any SBDM Council member. You can view the whole agenda HERE.
Warm regards,
Dr. Angela, Principal
Our Fee Wavier Funds for next year are possibly at risk, and we need your help! Fee-wavier money is tied to eligibility for free or reduced-price meals and is used to provide resources to students in need. When we compare our application numbers to previous years, we do not have many completed.
We need for ALL Brown School families to fill out Free/Reduced-Price Application, even if you are unsure if you qualify.
