Join the PTSA for 2021-2022
December 16, 2020
Dear Brown School Family,
Please join our PTSA this Thursday at 5:00 PM on their Facebook page for a special presentation by the Squallis Puppeteers! It is sure to be a treat for the whole family!
This is the last Bear Essentials of 2020, so I want to take this opportunity to wish you a happy New Year! May your winter break be filled with getting some much needed rest and making fond memories with family.
Warm regards,
Dr. Angela, Principal
Dear Brown School Family,
Join your Brown School PTSA for a special puppet show to kickoff the holidays! The Squallis Puppeteers will be presenting a special performance for our school on the Brown PTSA Facebook page at at 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 17th.
Stripes & Plaids
Dug, the local junk dog, is making his rounds visiting his solid, stripe and plaid neighbors. Hand-outs are sometimes hard to come by for this mutt, but his kindness ultimately saves the day in the face of a terrible oncoming storm. All are welcome and the show is recommended for ages 3-10.
Many of our students, especially our new students, are having difficulty connecting with others during NTI due to students in their classes having their cameras turned off. Additionally, some students are having difficulty completing work during this time as NTI can be challenging. We want to encourage our students to keep their cameras on when possible, and we also want to encourage our students who are "pursuing excellence" during NTI by submitting student work that is above expectations.
Be sure to watch the video today (scroll down) and next week to see if your student is recognized. Families will be able to pick up their students' shirts during our "contactless" item pick up hours at our main entrance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 to 2:00 on days that school is in session.
Problem: This is primarily for our students in grades 6-8 who are using school iPads. Why won't some of my apps update on my iPad? Why does my Google Meet keep kicking me on my iPad? The best fix is to wipe or reset your iPad!
Solution: How do you get your iPad reset or wiped? You can send me your request by email or text, and I will wipe it remotely. After an iPad is wiped, please follow the steps in this video.
If your student has a school iPad - PLEASE watch this video.
If you are having technical difficulties, please visit the Tech@Brown website it offers various ways to get help, and is linked off of our homepage under both PARENT and STUDENT.

Hello!
This is Maddie, I just wanted to reach out to let you know about our Youth Philanthropy Conference. We would absolutely love to see some students and staff attend this conference.
In high school I was able to get involved with a college dance marathon and raise money for pediatric oncology and hematology within my own high school and it was such a life changing experience. Ever since, I have been raising money for these kids and their families, and I would love to help students within your school do the same.
