April 12th
Hello Staff
Equity Services and Elementary T&L are excited to offer a second session of Teaching With Texts that Offer Multiple Perspectives and Experiences Workshop. We received really thoughtful and actionable feedback from staff that participated in the first round and are ready to offer another session this summer: June 12th and 13th. Just like last time, this opportunity provides free books and instructional materials designed to increase student access to multiple perspectives text as well as support in implementing them. This learning opportunity is designed to support K-5 teachers (for now) with classroom resources and implementation of the key shifts and concepts within the new ELA and Social Studies Standards. (Opportunities for EL, SPED and Specialists will be offered in the future).
More information can be found in the CANVA flier as well as the Google form to apply (also linked here).
Information can also be found on the PreK-5 T&L website under Literacy > Multiple Perspectives
PLC/grade level teams are encouraged to apply together. The application deadline is April 24th, 2024.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Jane.Bianchi@isd194.org or Kaetchen.Haugen@isd194.org as they will be leading this opportunity. Jane and Kaetchen will touch base with applicants on April 29th.
I would love for some staff from our building to attend if possible! Please know this is a PAID opportunity.
