Parent Teacher Consultations

At Ysgol Y Bryn, we greatly value the partnership between home and school. Strong communication with parents and carers plays a vital role in supporting your child’s progress and wellbeing.

When Do They Happen?

We hold formal Parent Teacher Consultations twice a year:

• Autumn Term – an opportunity to settle into the year, share how your child is progressing so far, and discuss targets or next steps.

• Spring Term – a mid-year check-in to review progress, celebrate successes, and ensure support is in place where needed.
  
  

Each session provides dedicated time for you to:

• Ask questions about your child’s learning and development

• Discuss their academic progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

• Hear how they are progressing against age-related expectations

• Understand how you can support their learning at home

These meetings are structured and purposeful, designed to give you the clearest picture possible of your child’s current standards and future targets.

End-of-Year Reports

In the Summer Term, you will receive a full written report detailing your child’s progress and achievements across the curriculum. This includes:

• Progress in all Areas of Learning and Experience

• Information on their attitude to learning and wellbeing

• Attendance figures

• Next steps for the year ahead
  
  

Daily Contact

We know that sometimes you may have questions or concerns that can’t wait until a formal consultation. Our teachers are available each morning and afternoon for a quick chat at drop-off or pick-up time. If you need a longer conversation, we’re always happy to arrange a meeting or phone call — just contact the school office or speak to your child’s class teacher.
