Stay Connected - Coming Summer 1!

We’ve created a shared school calendar to help parents and carers stay fully up to date with everything happening at Ysgol Y Bryn.

All of our key events – including term dates, trips, sports days, performances, INSET days and more – will be added to this calendar regularly. It’s the easiest way to keep track of what’s coming up across the school year.

Accessing the Calendar

You can:

• View the calendar online at any time

• Download the calendar as an ICS file, allowing you to sync it with your own phone, tablet, or computer calendar (e.g. Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook)
  
  

This means school events will appear automatically in your personal calendar – so you never miss a date!

If you need help accessing the calendar or downloading the ICS file, please contact the school office and we’ll be happy to support you.

How to Add the School Calendar to Your Phone

Once you’ve downloaded our .ICS calendar file, you can easily add it to your device to keep school events at your fingertips.

For iPhone / iPad (iOS)

1. Download the ICS file from our school website (tap the link and choose “Download”).

2. Once downloaded, tap Open in Calendar or Add to Calendar.

3. You will be asked to confirm adding the calendar – tap Add.

4. The calendar will now appear in your Apple Calendar app.

You can check it by opening the Calendar app and selecting Calendars at the bottom of the screen. Make sure the school calendar is ticked so events appear.

For Android Devices (via Google Calendar)

Android doesn’t support ICS files directly – but you can add the calendar using your Google account. Here’s how:

1. Open a browser on your computer or phone and go to Google Calendar.

2. Make sure you’re signed in with the Google account you use on your Android phone.

3. On the left-hand side, click or tap the “+” next to Other Calendars, then select “Import”.

4. Choose the .ICS file you downloaded and select which calendar to add it to.

5. Click Import – the school calendar will now be added to your Google Calendar.

6. The events will automatically sync to your Android phone (as long as you’re using the same Google account on the device).
