In our first Science lesson this module, we looked at different types of seeds and bulbs. We classified and sorted the, into groups according to what we thought was best such as size, shape and colour.

After grouping our seeds and bulbs, we observed them closely and drew them, focusing on the extra details that we could see through out magnifying glasses.

As our science lessons have been focused on plants this module, we have been looking at how to keep them healthy and what they need in order to grow. We also planted our own seeds and will be able to take them home at the end of the module.
During this module we have been looking at living things and their habitats.
To kick start our learning we recapped different life processes (MRS GREN) and looked at habitats in our country. We sorted the different living things according to their habitat (pond, woodland, urban and coast). When completing this task we were developing our working scientific skill of ordering and classification.

To help us develop our knowledge of living things and their habitats further, we researched different habitats around the world. We were able to find lots of different facts about the habitats and use them in our writing lessons.
On the 27th June we were lucky enough to visit Howletts Wildlife Centre and see lots of different animals. We took part in a talk about habitats and adaptation and found out lots of facts about animals such as elephants, gibbons and gorillas.
Did you know that male Ghouls actually do a handstand when they urinate? We didn't either!
