Students will investigate different design strategies that contribute to audience participation and appreciation of art. Students will reflect on how artists can make an impact on the community around them. They will explore different media while intentionally thinking about applying visual design rules to create specific interpretations and reactions.

Students will investigate many different ways in which artists respond to their ideas and beliefs. Students will investigate how artists and viewers of art respond to color and medium choices.
Unit 3: Meaningful Impact
Identify and discuss ways artists make a positive impact on the society and world around them. Students will discover different methods in which artists create space in an artwork to convey and communicate their ideas and beliefs.
Unit 4: Mini Sustained Investigation
As a culminating end to their journey through Intro to Art, students will choose their own self-study project. Students will create three works of art that visually tie together under 1 theme that interests the student.
