Use the grid method to sketch out the outlines of your frog.
Add light green to the top of the frog and its leg.
Add dark green to start creating the bumpy texture in the face and head and back.

Color the eye in completely with a light orange.
Add red into the eye to create a sense of volume.
Add black to the pupil and around the outside of the red. Make sure to leave the catchlight.
Color the belly pattern with yellow.
Use orange and dark orange to color in the front foot.
Use light orange and dark orange to color in the back foot.
Use light orange and dark orange to color in the front foot on the other side.
Add red to the shadow areas on the feet.
Add grey to the underside of the frog. Blend the grey into the white so that it is a smooth transition.
Add light blue to the pattern on the belly.
Add a darker grey under the chin and belly and next to the back legs to create drop shadows.
Add dark blue and dark green to the pattern on the belly.
Add dark blue and white to the upper leg.
Add light green, blue and white to the back leg.
Add dark green, dark blue and white to the back leg.
Add light brown to the bottom portion of the yellow areas in the belly. This will make the color more rich by giving it more depth.
Add light green and dark green to the front leg. Remember to create the bumpy texture as you go.
Add either dark red or black to the shadow areas in the feet.
Add dark blue to the top of the back leg.
Add final details to the head with a black or really dark green. Add more shadows to the bumbs of texture on your face.
Add the black pupil to your back eye.
Add your ground (can be whatever color you want) and create shadows under the frog (using a darker value of the color you choose to use).
Don't color the black background because we will cut the frog out and glue him on black paper.
Finish coloring the ground. You don't have to use red. You can make it look like whatever you want it to look like.
