Course overview - Study Period 5 and 6
During the fifth study period - Where shall we go shopping?
Learners will cover the key vocabulary in German in order to take part in a conversation regarding shopping. The study period will focus on the real life application of the language and how to ask for items, return items and the cost. In addition, learners will cover the different items linked to the topic of shopping and free time.
During the sixth study period - What does my future look like?
Learners will study the world of work and combine the knowledge of professions with the future tense and opinions. They have already come across the future tense in C7 so this will practise it in the context of their future working lives. They will discover some cognates and non-cognates linking the names given to jobs, with the concept that there is a difference in the name given to a male and female version of the job. They will learn how to describe their job, to say whether they like it or not and to express why using 'weil'. They will use the future tense in the context of their plans for their GCSE school years and after they leave school.
