Course overview - Study Period 5 and 6
During the first half term, study period 5, learners will complete an introductory course in understanding Databases in Real Life. Learners will look at how a flat-file database can be used to organise data in records. Learners will use tools within a database to order and answer questions about data. They will create graphs and charts from their data to help solve problems. They will also use a real-life database to answer a question, and present their work to others.
During the second half term, study period 6, learners will experience a few advanced learning sessions using Microsoft Office to complete their learning of the Microsoft software available. To complete their KS3 journey in Computer Science, learners will experience a variety of team challenges utilising their business and creative skills to present their designs and products.

Guidance:
Learners will receive guidance in a variety of ways. These include marked assessments, reports, feedback in their exercise books and verbal feedback, 1:1 interaction, Google Classroom.
