Step by Step Guide 

Step 1: Charge the Battery

Charge the battery for at least 12 hours before installation. A minimum of 1 hour of charge is required before running any tests.

Step 2: Wire the Microinverter

Choose the diagram that matches your fixture:

• Diagram 1 — Fixture under 50W with no dimming

• Diagram 2 — Fixture under 320W with 0–10V dimming active

• Diagram 3 — Fixture under 320W with 0–10V dimming capability but not in use

For all diagrams, connect the AC input wires first (Black/Red L1, White Common, Black L2), then connect the output wires to the luminaire. Always connect the Battery Connector last.

If a switched L2 line is not used, combine the L1 and L2 lines together. Pink, Gray, Pink/Orange, and Gray/Orange dimming wires are interchangeable.

Step 3: Install the Hexmodal Controller

1. Plug the USB-C end of the Connector Cable into the Hexmodal Controller

2. Plug the RJ12 end into the RJ12 slot on the microinverter

3. Press and hold the button on the Controller for 6 seconds until the LED blinks green — the device will join the network within 1–2 minutes

4. Secure the Controller to the microinverter using the provided double-sided adhesive

Step 4: Activate the Device

1. Scan the QR code on the Hexmodal Controller with your phone

2. Enter the location information and tap Save and Submit

Step 5: Run the Initial Test

1. Tap Run Test in the Hexmodal app

2. Select Run 60 Sec Test

3. Wait for results — the screen should confirm "In Compliance. Completed This Month's Testing"

Step 6: Final Setup

1. Thread the white Test LED cable through the luminaire's access port so it's visible from the outside (drill a small hole if needed)

2. Apply the QR sticker to the outside of the luminaire in a visible spot

3. Confirm before you finish:

   • ✅ QR sticker is attached and visible

   • ✅ Test LED is visible from outside the luminaire
