Thank you to our BJH 9th graders and former alumni who are now LD Bell Baseball players for volunteering at Bedford Heights Elementary this morning. Their support during student arrival helped start the day on a positive note and showcased true leadership in action!
Big things are happening in Broncos country—and by “big,” we mean state-level big. Our talented student artists have taken their creativity, vision, and hard work all the way to the top, earning recognition in the 2025–2026 Reflections Art Program themed “I Belong!”
Please join us in celebrating these outstanding students:
Ellie Gilchrist earned the Award of Excellence in Photography for her piece “I Belong Here.” (Which, clearly, she does—right at the top!)
Hayden Hernandez received the Award of Merit in Visual Arts for “Colors of Reflection.” A fitting title for work that truly stands out.
Oliver Miller also earned the Award of Merit in Photography for “Generations.” Capturing meaning across time? Not easy—but Oliver nailed it.
Advancing to the state level is no small feat. These students didn’t just submit artwork—they told stories, expressed identity, and represented our school with creativity and pride.
A huge thank-you goes out to all participants who shared their incredible talents. It takes courage to create and even more to share it—and we’re proud of every single one of you.
And to our winners: enjoy the spotlight—you’ve earned it. 🎉
Mrs. Romero’s social skills class is exploring meaningful ways to make a positive impact on their community while celebrating the beauty of the changing seasons. As part of their learning, students are discovering how small actions can help brighten the world around them.
To welcome spring, the class spent time planting flowers in the courtyard. This hands-on activity not only enhanced the campus environment but also taught students the importance of caring for plants and being good stewards of the earth. Through these efforts, students are learning that nurturing their surroundings is one way to grow a stronger, more connected community.
Students enrolled in 9th grade Biology have a great opportunity to boost their confidence and sharpen their skills ahead of the STAAR test. STAAR Prep sessions are now available for any student who wants extra practice—no struggle required, just a willingness to improve.
These focused sessions will take place in Room H-105 (Simpson’s Room) from 7:45–8:10 a.m. on the following dates:
March 24–26
March 31–April 2
April 7–9
April 14–16
April 20
During each session, students will:
Review high-priority TEKS
Practice STAAR-style questions
Break down challenging concepts
Build confidence for test day
Whether students want to reinforce what they already know or tackle areas that need a little extra attention, these sessions are designed to help them walk into the STAAR test feeling prepared and capable.
Encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity—because getting better at Biology beats staring blankly at a test any day.

Through activities like leadership training and drill competitions, students grow personally and have fun doing it. Best of all, there is no military service obligation—just an opportunity to challenge yourself and be part of something bigger.
Interested students can visit the HEB ISD JROTC website or scan the QR code for more information.
