Our students truly adore our counselors, Mrs. Still and Mrs. Givens. They are trusted adults who create a welcoming, supportive environment where students feel heard, valued, and cared for. Whether helping students navigate academic decisions, social challenges, or personal goals, Mrs. Still and Mrs. Givens consistently go above and beyond. Their genuine compassion, approachability, and dedication make a lasting impact on our students’ confidence and success, and our campus is better because of them. Thank you for helping our students grow and blossom.
Today, our students participated in the very first Friday Your Way event — and it was a fantastic success!
Students who qualified by demonstrating strong responsibility and positive behavior were able to enjoy this special experience. To participate, students could have no more than five total violations overall — including tardies, ID issues, hallway violations, phone violations, dress code concerns, or discipline referrals. (That’s five combined — not five in each category!)
Those who met the criteria were rewarded with a fun-filled day designed around choice and personal interests. Students selected from a wide variety of activities, including sports, outdoor field events, computer games, board games, karaoke, art, and baking.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to pursue their interests, try something new, and spend time connecting with friends. The energy was positive, the participation was enthusiastic, and it was clear that students appreciated both the recognition and the experience.
We are proud of the students who earned this opportunity and look forward to making Friday Your Way a tradition that celebrates responsibility, engagement, and school pride.
Students in 7th Grade Advanced/GT English participated in a fun and creative book tasting! As they sampled a variety of genres, they also decided which “meals” would pair perfectly with each one. Some of their top picks included Science Fiction with MREs, Historical Fiction with stale bread, Romance with chocolate-covered strawberries, and Scary stories with a school lunch. It was a deliciously engaging way to explore new books and discover their next great read!
We’ve just received information about an exciting scholarship opportunity for our 9th grade students. The application window is short, so we encourage you to review the details with your student as soon as possible.
If your student has questions or needs more information, they should speak with their 9th grade Geography teacher.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Amelia C. was recognized by Coach Schulz for assisting with cleaning up in lunch on two occasions. Thank you Amelia for helping out.
Mrs. Holder would like to recognize George W. for his "willingness to help others." I would like to recognize this George for his outstanding character and willingness to help out without hesitation or expectation of a reward. He consistently offers assistance with a positive attitude and never complains when asked to help. During a recent test, he demonstrated strong integrity by doing the right thing. His actions reflect honesty, responsibility, and respect, and he is a great example of the kind of student who helps create a positive classroom environment.
Mr. De Leon would like to recognize Ben T. for "doing the right thing." Ben found the materials that had been taken from my classroom and brought them back.
Ms. Hebert would like to recognize Dominik S. for his "willingness to help others." Dominik was observant and quick to offer assistance with the door while I was dealing with a situation on the bus. He does a great job of watching out for our FACI students and is always willing to help.
Has someone been a GEM? We would like to recognize our GEMs (someone who "Goes the Extra Mile). At Bedford JH, our amazing faculty and staff always work together to create the very best experience for our students and community. We want to hear about it and recognize them for helping make Bedford Best! Do you want to recognize a teacher, administrator, counselor, teacher, office staff, librarian or aides? Your Team 1 8th grade girl's basketball team brought home a championship last weekend at our annual Bronco Invitational Tournament. On Friday night they took down the North Richland Falcons in decisive fashion to move on to the championship game Saturday morning against Harwood. After a slow start your Broncos kicked it into gear and left no doubt about who was claiming the crown. Congratulations, ladies!
The 8th grade Lady Broncos 8th grade team finished up their regular season last night on their home court against the Harwood Blackhawks.
Team 2 struggled to get their offense going and got themselves in a 17 - 6 hole by halftime, despite playing tough from tipoff. The third quarter started our slow comeback with help from a reinvigorated cheering section and life in the team. In the third quarter we turned up our defensive pressure and kept Harwood scoreless, while scoring 6 ourselves, inching our way back into the game bucket by bucket. In the fourth quarter, Claire Luna started us off with back to back buckets from defensive steals, putting us within one score at 16 - 18. By the halfway mark of the 4th we were tied, 20 - 20 and it stayed that way until a layup by Harwood at the buzzer to steal the win.
Our girls played incredibly tough and ended the regular season #2 in District with an 8 - 1 record. What an amazing season, ladies!
In Team 1's game we also had a bit of a slow start but after the first few minutes we found our rhythm and played our game. After putting up 20 points in the first and a (nearly) perfect showing from the free throw line at 7 of 8, the halftime score was 34 - 19. Our defense reached a new level starting the second half which turned into tons of creative offense opportunities. With a final score of 63 - 20 and a perfect 9 -0 record, your 8th grade Lady Broncos are the regular season District Champs!!
They will start their journey in the District Tournament on Friday, Jan 20, at Bedford Junior High on the hunt for a second consecutive district championship.
