Big congratulations to Mrs. Harrell on being named Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education!
BJH has been incredibly fortunate to benefit from her strong, steady leadership, and while we will miss her greatly next year, we couldn’t be more proud of this well-deserved achievement.
We celebrated in style with festive yard art, bright balloons, and cupcakes—because promotions this big deserve more than just a handshake. 🎉
Thank you, Mrs. Harrell, for the impact you’ve made at BJH. Elementary Education is gaining an outstanding leader!
Each year, the District Council of PTAs hosts a special luncheon to celebrate and recognize the incredible work of PTAs across the district. This year, Bedford PTA was proudly recognized for a milestone anniversary — celebrating 55 years of service to our school community!
BJH PTA also earned several outstanding membership awards:
Golden Apple Award – honoring campuses with 100% faculty and staff PTA membership
MARS Award (Men Are Really Super) – recognizing strong male involvement and participation
Community–Platinum Membership Award – awarded for having more than 50 community members (beyond parents and grandparents) supporting our PTA
We are so proud of these accomplishments! There is just one more goal we hope to reach this year — gaining 14 additional community members. If you know someone who would love to support BJH students and staff, please encourage them to join BJH PTA!
Bedford PTA is truly outstanding and does so much for our students and teachers. Come be a part of something great!
Dr. Santamaria’s classes brought a little New Orleans flair to campus on Tuesday as they celebrated Mardi Gras! Students explored the history and cultural traditions behind the holiday and put their creativity to work with a festive craft activity.
Laissez les bon temps rouler! 🎭
Dr. Santamaria’s 8th graders put their entrepreneurial skills to work by designing their own food trucks! Each student developed a unique truck concept complete with a catchy name, memorable slogan, and a full menu—all showcased on vibrant, eye-catching designs.
Great job to these future business owners in the making! 🚚✨
When it was time to move the massive wrestling mat out of the locker room, our boys didn’t hesitate—they stepped up and put their muscles to work! 💪
What could’ve been a “call maintenance and hope for the best” moment quickly turned into a full-on teamwork showcase. With plenty of strength, cooperation, and just the right amount of strategy, they tackled the heavy lift like pros.
Now that’s how you roll up a challenge and carry it out the door. Great job, gentlemen!
During February 9th–13th, students were invited to Spread the Love and Kindness! Each day, they took on a new challenge to perform a different act of kindness, creating a ripple effect of positivity across our campus.
Kindness does more than brighten someone’s day—it builds meaningful connections, reduces stress, and boosts mental well-being for both the giver and the receiver. Simple acts of compassion spark the release of “feel-good” chemicals like serotonin and dopamine, lower stress hormones like cortisol, and, when practiced consistently, contribute to better overall health and reduced anxiety. Most importantly, kindness strengthens our school community, making it more supportive, welcoming, and connected.
We are so proud of the enthusiasm our students showed, and we hope this powerful kindness movement continues to grow and inspire others throughout the rest of the year! 💛
We currently have quite the collection of jackets, water bottles, lunchboxes, and other items that are patiently waiting to be reunited with their owners.
The first photo on the right shows the drop-off cabinet at the front entrance. These are items parents have kindly delivered for their students—but the students never stopped by to pick them up. If your student was expecting something and “forgot,” now’s the time to check! Any unclaimed items in this cabinet will be moved to the Lost and Found at the end of next week.
The additional photos below show our Lost and Found box and clothing racks. These items have been collected from around campus after being left behind in classrooms, hallways, and common areas. (Apparently, hoodies can’t find their way home on their own.)
We encourage both parents and students to carefully look through the photos and see if anything looks familiar. If you spot a missing item, please have your student retrieve it as soon as possible.
Let’s clear these racks and get everyone reunited with their belongings!
A huge congratulations to the students who earned a spot on the BJH Tennis Team!
Making the team takes dedication, focus, and plenty of grit on the court. These athletes showed determination, skill, and Bronco pride every step of the way.
We can’t wait to watch our Broncos compete this season—strong serves, long rallies, and big wins ahead. Way to represent BJH!
Congratulations to our 2nd Annual BJH Royalty winners, Ms. Gibson and Coach Phillips! Our campus recently hosted a “Heart” Fundraiser where students purchased hearts to give to their teachers. The funds raised will go directly toward student and staff incentives. This event continues to be a fun, friendly competition that brings our campus community together in such a positive way! ❤️
Congratulations to both of our winners! Your students clearly appreciate you in a BIG way.
Thank you to everyone who purchased hearts, supported their favorite teachers, and helped make this fundraiser another success. We can’t wait to see how much love BJH spreads next year! 💖
We’ve just received information about an exciting scholarship opportunity for our 9th grade students. The application window is short, so we encourage you to review the details with your student as soon as possible.
If your student has questions or needs more information, they should speak with their 9th grade Geography teacher.
Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!

Mr. De Leon would like to recognize Sawyer W. for "doing the right thing." They found the materials that had been taken from my classroom and brought them back.
Ms. Jones would like to recognize Zurie C. for "doing the right thing." On Wednesday this week, I dropped my credit card on the floor and didn't realize it. Zurie saw it by my desk and asked if it belonged to me. We spend a lot of time in FACI talking about honesty and integrity. I was very appreciative of Zurie's demonstration of integrity...I'm very proud of her. Way to be an honest Bronco!
Has someone been a GEM? We would like to recognize our GEMs (someone who "Goes the Extra Mile). At Bedford JH, our amazing faculty and staff always work together to create the very best experience for our students and community. We want to hear about it and recognize them for helping make Bedford Best! Do you want to recognize a teacher, administrator, counselor, teacher, office staff, librarian or aides? Use the link below to let us know.

Tuesday night the gymnastics team competed against Harwood and Hurst, and both our boys and girls teams earned 2nd place overall! We are proud of the effort they bring to practice and how much they continue to grow and improve each meet!
