Abigail truly goes above and beyond in caring for others. She is consistently helpful, patient, and kind, making a positive impact on everyone around her. Abigail’s thoughtfulness and willingness to lend a hand set her apart as an outstanding student. She is a wonderful role model and a joy to have in our school community.
Pierce is one of the most kind and respectful young men I know! He works hard to be a good student and cares about being a good team member. He is a great helper, with or without being asked, he just knows what needs to be done and does it! Pierce leads his peers through his actions and kindness. I am very lucky to have a student like him in my band!
Jenna is an amazing member of our Symphonic band. She is dedicated to being the best musician she can be. She comes in early every day and practices and always submits her assignments at a high level before the due date! She maintains a 100+ average and is a joy to teach.
Liam is an exceptional team player who consistently demonstrates strong skills and a positive attitude. His collaboration and dedication make them a valued member of any group, and his efforts contribute greatly to the success of those around him.
Gracen approaches every task with a positive attitude and a strong commitment to excellence. She consistently put forth her best effort, showing determination, responsibility, and pride in her work. Gracen’s uplifting spirit and dedication make her a role model for her peers.
Landen stands out for his strong teamwork and impressive abilities. He contributes thoughtfully, supports those around him, and shows great skill in every challenge he takes on. His collaborative spirit makes him a valuable part of the school community.
This week, we proudly celebrate Custodial Appreciation Day by honoring the incredible work of our custodian Ember. Her dedication goes far beyond keeping our schools clean—she creates a safe, welcoming space where students can learn and thrive.
She works tirelessly behind the scenes, arriving early to ensure classrooms, hallways, and common areas are ready for each school day. Her care and commitment reflect the heart of our school community.
We are deeply grateful for her service and proud to recognize her for the vital role she plays in shaping a positive learning environment for all.

Students in theatre class recently took their study of costumes and wardrobes from the classroom to the stage by hosting a lively fashion show.
On Thursday, October 9th from 9-11am all 8th grade students will visit the Buinger Career & Technical Education Academy. Students will have the opportunity to explore the different programs of study offered. Should you have any questions please contact BJH counselors.

Ninth Grade Tribute ads come in two sizes 1/4 page and 1/8 page. The 1/4 page is $25 and the 1/4 page is $50. Once they are purchased, Balfour will email you a link to set up and design your ad. You can upload and edit your page, save progress and log in and out until you finalize your ad and order. The due date for Tribute Ad purchase and submission is January 19, 2026.Please note that ad space does generally sell out every year!

Congratulations to the 8th grade team 2 volleyball for winning the Hurst Volleyball Tournament Championship this past weekend!
Team 2 was dominant in every match on their way to the championship winning 25-9, 25-10 in the final.
Kamryn Turner was tournament MVP for her dominant service pressure in every match. Finley Smith and Lily Park also led us with consistent tough service pressure. Bethany Vankleef & Addyson Stuth made the attack work all tournament with their quality sets. Kinsley Young, Lillian Harrop, Myla Taylor, Mallory Hurtado and Addilyn Smith attacked with purpose. Purity Bittinger, Reyna Ochoa, Klaire pesce and Yvian Noguera gave great passes in every match. Managers Aislynn Milligan, Grace Potter, Olivia Meer and A'miyah Smith were also significant contributors to this team's success.

Our Freshmen volleyball team has been working hard this season! Here are some highlights and some shout-outs:
The freshmen team won their bracket at the Freshmen Frenzy Tournament a couple of weeks ago, defeating MacArthur High School and Burleson High School!
THE GIRLS BEAT TRINITY last Friday in TWO sets and Timber Creek this Tuesday!
Loralye Downey, Izzy Wendorf, Keira Pravong, and Isabella Moncibaiz are killing it on our back row defense and getting better & better every day!
Emma Edwards' outstanding sets & service pressure have given us life on the court!
Amelia Coleman and Kamila Molina's net defense and pressure shut down our opponents and provided some critical points during matches.
Taegan Webb, Abby Halliday, and Kamila Molina continue to provide some tough attacks that swing the games in our favor!
Outstanding service by Taegan Webb, Kamila Molina, Emma Edwards, Keira Pravong, and Izzy Wendorf keep us in the games!
We've got some key players on our Junior Varsity: Kinely Walters and Camila Patino. They are playing big roles as the JV setters and are making a big impact on the team. We are so proud of their hard work & playmaking! Keep it up, girls!
