This back-to-school season at Explore has been stirring with new and improved ideas to schedule changes and new teachers. But, the biggest change that has taken place is the CTE changes. How does Explore feel about this?
Firstly, Career Technical Education, otherwise known as CTE is an elective offered at Explore where the individual can sign up for any career choice and explore that. In the past, all grades were able to take this elective, but this year only eighth graders have been able to take this.
Was this a wise implement? “I think the new CTE changes are interesting." eighth grader Jazlynn Amaya says. “The new choices were definitely harder to pick from and to choose what fits me best but, I'm glad we get CTE time to prep for high school as 8th grade only.”
Similarly, eighth-grader Isabella shared the same opinion but gave us more of an inside scoop on what's been happening over the years. “I do think that the implements this year is better.” shared Isabella. “It is easier to be able to get in the classes you want that are relevant to your interests/major choice for high school, rather than last year where a lot of the time, you didn't get in the class you wanted because it was full.”
Both eighth graders shared detailed reasoning for their opinions on the recent CTE change that only seems to make us think more. This change at Explore has impacted our opinions, true, but for now, these changes remain, and until then, let's make it a delightful experience for the eighth graders!
