Cats or Dogs? Cats and dogs are the most popular pets in the world. Cats or Dogs is one of the most important questions ever asked. This has been an argument since the beginning of time. So which pet is actually more popular?
First, we have to see which pet is bought more. According to the article “Pet Ownership Statistics,” it states that “68% of U.S. households own a pet” and “An estimated total of 85 million families own some kind of pet”.
About 68% of U.S. families own pets, which is about a total of 85 million, according to Pet Ownership Statistics. This article discusses the 25.4% of American households that own cats and the 38.5% that own dogs. So dogs win this fight in America by 13.0%. Again, dogs win this fight worldwide with 370 million cats being kept as pets across the globe, and 471 million dogs worldwide.
Now we have to find which pet the students of Explore like more. Cooper Cunningham and I went around the school and interviewed Explore students and we gathered 42 opinions. Out of the 42 votes, 35 students voted for dogs.
Explore student Luke Bridda said, “Well first of all dogs have more loyalty, more variation in breeds and they are much nicer and you can take them on walks.” Out of the 42 votes, 7 voted for cats.
“I can’t believe those numbers,” said ELA teacher Mr. Alex Kraft, who voted for cats. “Cats are far more independent than dogs. They clean up after themselves, don’t have to be entertained constantly, and provide just the right amount of love and affection."
At Explore, it seems like more people like dogs than cats.
It seems like dogs have won the fight against cats. The most important question ever has finally been answered.
