A warm welcome to the Hwa Chong family! A new chapter of your life has begun. As you step foot into the Hwa Chong campus, you will find that you have stepped into a campus of vibrancy, which will colour your college life.

In the next two years, you will experience some of Hwa Chong’s flagship events. Beyond Orientation, do look forward to other key milestones in your Hwa Chong journey — Post-Orientation Party (POP), Teachers’ Day, Mid-Autumn Festival (MAF) and more! Along the way, you will pick up SODACHE (an abbreviation of “Song, Dance and Cheers”) — elements of school spirit conceived by generations of seniors who walked this campus before us. They connect every batch of Hwa Chong students, from the College’s inception in 1974 to today. This is the Hwa Chong spirit we pride ourselves on.

While these two years may be short, they will be filled with fond memories. So live in the present — savour every laugh from a friend, every new lesson learnt, treasure every opportunity. Embrace new changes. Meet new people, they will often surprise you. Challenges will arise, but face them head-on with the spirit of 自强不息 — one of tireless self-improvement with tenacity, innovation and passion. You will find kindred souls, forging a second home for yourself here.

欢迎你们加入我们华中大家庭，开启新的学习旅程！在这里，你们将体验多姿多彩的高中生活，在结交新朋友的同时拓宽知识的边界。高中的两年将会充满着挑战与机遇，但我们深信，你们将在此茁壮成长，朝着梦想前进！

未来的两年中，学生理事会所举办的迎新会、中秋节庆典、教师节庆典等大型全校活动将为你们的校园生活增添不少色彩与乐趣。这些活动将成为你在华中的珍贵回忆，让你体会到华中独有的“华中精神”。所谓的“华中精神”，是一种跨越无数代华中人的精神，承载着几代人的集体回忆，凝聚着历届的华中校友。秉持着“己立立人，己达达人”的学府价值观，华中学生携手前行，共同迎接各种挑战，将“华中精神”发扬光大。
