Important ICT Information for Students

The portal page of the HCI website (https://www.hci.edu.sg/school-portal/student/general-sites) contains links to all the ICT applications in HCI. 


The student ICT portal (https://sites.google.com/hci.edu.sg/students-ict) contains all the ICT information that a student may require in HCI.


Below is a summary of the important ICT information for you. 

HCI Google Workspace 


You are provided with an account on the HCI Google Workspace. With this account, you will be able to access the following core services:

Please note that any official email correspondence between you and the school should be done through the HCI Student Email. Other personal emails will not be entertained. Please check your HCI Student Email daily.


The HCI Google Chat and Spaces is the official instant messaging platform where you should communicate with your teachers and peers on official school-related matters.


The storage capacity of the HCI Google Student account is 20Gb and this account will be terminated when you graduate.

Integrated Electronic Message Board (iEMB) 


The iEMB (https://iemb.hci.edu.sg/) is the official platform for school announcements. Please check your iEMB daily for school announcements. The login details are the same as that for the Hwa Chong Intelligent School Portal (ISP).

Hwa Chong Intelligent School Portal (ISP)


The ISP (http://isp.hc.edu.sg) is an administrative portal that provides all students, teachers and parents with the relevant information and  services. All students will need access to ISP regularly to manage and view their school related matters. The login details are as follows:

Personal Particulars


All students must ensure that their personal particulars, contact information and health records are accurate and updated in ISP. Please note that the HCI Student Email is reflected as the official email address in your personal profile page in ISP. Given that your HCI Student Email is terminated upon graduation, please provide your personal email address in your ISP account so that you remain contactable after you graduate. We may reach out to you for GCE A level Exam release matters or invite you for special school events. Students should provide their parents’ contact numbers and email addresses in ISP.  Important information will be communicated to the students and parents via sms and email. 


Release of Tests/Examinations Results


All tests and examination results will be released via ISP (hardcopy of progress reports for major tests/exams will also be given). Any discrepancy in marks must be reported as soon as possible to their civics and subject tutors.


CCA and CIP Activities


CCA registration and proposal of CIP activities may be done via ISP, and it is the students’ responsibility to ensure that all activities and competitions are accurately captured in ISP. 


Student Out of Campus Pass


When students are already in school and if they need to be excused from lessons while at school (eg fallen ill, having injuries, or having situation such as bereavement or hospitalization of close relative or family member), they may apply for out of campus pass in ISP.  The Civics Tutor will follow up with online approval upon notification by students.

MOE Identity Management System (MIMS)


Each student in Singapore is given an digital identity on MIMS. With this digital identity, you will be able to access the following MOE services/applications:

Please note that SLS is one of the key learning management systems for college students. You should check SLS regularly to ensure that you do not miss out on any important assignments.

Technical Assistance


It is the responsibility of every student to keep his/her user IDs and passwords to various ICT services/applications secure. You are also reminded to use strong passwords. 


Should you require any technical assistance or if you have forgotten your password(s) for any of the ICT platforms and services, please email to IT@hci.edu.sg to request for password reset. Alternatively, you may proceed to Tech Hub (which is located next to B218) during office hours (Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm).

Personal Data Protection Policy

Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) recognises the importance of personal data entrusted to us. We are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities in ensuring that your personal data is properly managed, protected and processed.


“Personal data” means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified:

The purposes listed in the above clauses may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).


Photographs or video images of you or your parents/guardians may be taken during school activities and events such as classroom lessons, CCA, school camps, or school concerts. The school may use and publish such photographs or video recordings in school publications, the school’s website, social media channels, or other communication channels.


At the start of Term 1, HCI sends out the Individual Student Details Report (ISDR) to parents to gather update of student information and obtain consent from parents for usage and disclosure of personal data for various educational purposes to facilitate provision of enhanced learning opportunities and operational matters.  Please remind your parents to uncheck the checkbox in the consent clause used in the ISDR prior to its submission if you would like to allow for such usage of your personal data.
