I will need a Computer, an iPad, iMovie, and a 3D Printer.

What is your plan to create in this project?

My plan is to create Mini Desktop Trash Bins.

What unique qualities will your project have?

My project will have a convenient pouring system that allows you to pour certain trash into certain bins without mixing everything up.

Daily Log

Day 1 - I created a device that would help to keep a keyboard up.

Day 2 - I sadly had to do the How To project and I tried to make the Micro:Bit video but failed to due to recording issues.

Day 3 - Still had to work on the How To project. Found recording software but still can't edit.

Day 4 - Created a Mug and Desktop Trash/Recycling Cans.

Day 5 - I added more to the Desktop Trash Cans, giving them names for three different types of trash, and convenient holes on the sides of the cans so you can dump the trash individually instead of picking out the trash yourself or dumping the trash while trying to cover the other holes.

Day 6 - I Wasn't here on that day, so I got nothing done.

Day 7 - I sent the link of the STL file so that it could be printed.

Reflection

• Using Tinkercad and a 3D Printer, I created Desktop Trash Cans because I wanted to create an easy and organized way to throw away trash on your desk.

• During this process, I learned how to 3D model in Tinkercad.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I used the idea of trash cans and reinvented it by making them into a desktop tool.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was coming up with what I was going to make. I was able to do it by thinking about it for a bit until I thought of the object I created, which was the desktop trash cans.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the fact that the some of the letters on the word "Recycle" were ripped off, maybe by moving the word closer to the model or making the word thicker. The reason why I would change it is because someone may not know that the middle trash can is the recycle can, and it looks unprofessional to have letters ripped off of the model.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Manufacturing Engineering.
