Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working by myself.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need a computer and scratch.
What is your plan to create in this project?
my plan is to create an RPG based off of my character Epix.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will include characters that I have made, such as Epix and Blue.
I started to work on my list of 10 good ideas.
I finished my list of 10 good ideas. I still haven't chosen my actual project yet, as I believe these are all good ideas. The ones that will most likely be picked are #1, #4, or #7, with #8 being incorporated.
I removed Bitworld: Offline from what I was most likely going to do, and used a Google Doc to figure out the Pros and Cons of Epix's Day out and Escape Room 3. Epix's Day Out is most likely going to be the project I make. I also added some Wizard Rat sprites to a blank project because he will be added to the game no matter what I choose.
I decided to work on the Epix's Day Out RPG. I added a start cutscene and worked on the street. So far the main character doesn't even come onto the scene yet, but this will be fixed tommorow.
I made Epix actually walk onto the scene, and added a dumpster dive action. It is still being worked on, but it is going pretty good.
I started to work on the boss battle. I added the cutscene and started working on the bosses moves. I still have to make them damage the player, allow the player to damage the boss, and add a few more things in the rooms beforehand, but hopefully I'll do that tommorow.
I added a new attack! I added basically the attack that already exists, being the thunderbolts, but he teleports, too! I also added healthbars for each character and fixed up the laser eye attack. I am hoping to work on this project out of school, as it is fun to work on it and I want to get it done!
Over the weekend, I added a Phase 2, added a few more cutscenes, as well as made the trash bin do something. When you use it, it gives you a skateboard, which helps you in battle.
I made a minor change in the background of the street, just adding a sort of curb. I then was ready to record my video.

Using Scratch, I created an RPG style video game. I did this because I felt like this project would allow me to share the most creativity out of the other ten ideas. The others had a pretty grounded premise, or were too small to be a standalone, but this one really stood out among the rest.
During this process, I learned how to create a working boss battle in Scratch. I figured out how to plan for my idea, writing down attacks that the boss could do. I then coded these ideas, and edited the code to make the attacks stronger/better when phase 2 came around.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I took a video game idea that already existed and put my own spin on it. I took the idea of an RPG game, and I added the twist of Epix, the Wizard Rat, and the whole "find the slushie" plot.
A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out what the dumpster would be used for. I added it to the game with animations and everything, but I was stuck trying to figure out what it would do to enhance gameplay. I was able to do it by making it so when you hop in the dumpster, you collect a skateboard, which makes the boss battle easier by lowering the boss' health.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the "walk to the battle" portion of the game. The reason why I would change it is because this part of the game is really short, only including the dumpster dive mechanic, and that's it. I feel like it would be better if there was more to do in that section, such as stuff that would also help with the boss battle, or even make it more challenging.
