Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team.
What materials will you need for your project?
I will need Two Robots, an iPad, and iMovie.
What is your plan to create in this project?
My plan is to create a race between two of the robots.
What unique qualities will your project have?
My project will include two robots instead of just one.
A Robot That Goes Through A Maze
Tic Tac Toe Robot
A Race Between two of the Robots*
A Robot That Draws A Simple Story
A Hide and Seek Robot
Therapy Robot
Math Problem Solving Robot
An Interview Between Two Sphero Minis
A Fashion Show
A Game Show Starring Dash, Sphero Bolt and Sphero Mini
Day 1 - We tried to create a catapult robot, but failed to connect it.
Day 2 - We successfully built catapult for robot and connected to it. Started working on party bomb robot.
Day 3 - We successfully coded party bomb robot. Started working on the Writing Robot.
Day 4 - We almost Finished Writing Robot.
Day 5 - We finished Writing Robot/Hayinator-5000.
Day 6 - We redid the catapult, as we didn't launch a tire and didn't even use code. We then started working on the Sphero Mini.
Day 7 - We started working on the Sphero Mini/Shape-inator, but realized our party bomb didn't jump. We essentially made it spin so fast it jumped. We did this using the raw motor block.
Day 8 - We rerecorded the party bomb video.
Day 9 - We sent all of the images and videos to Google Drive,
Hayinator/Drawing Robot
Shape-Inator/Sphero Mini
Dash Catapult
Party Bomb
Using various Robots and an iPad, I created code for the robots to complete certain challenges because of a multitude of things. For the iRobot, we used the word "Hey" to be able to do it in a short amount of time so we could work on the other projects. For the Sphero Mini, we did a Rectangle and Pentagon because those were the only shapes we knew how to do, and, all together we did these because we had experience with these things before and knew we could do the challenge.
During this process, I sadly didn't learn much, as I had already learned the things I could have learned already, that being I already knew how to work with a team because of the Cardboard Challenge, and I have been block coding since 2018.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I took things that already existed (Robots) and turned them into something different (Party Bomb, Catapult, etc.).
A challenge I overcame on this project was Making the Party Bomb Jump. I was able to do it by searching it online and finding out it was the raw motor action.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the word we used for the iRobot/Drawing Robot. The reason why I would change it is because the word "Hey" seemed a bit too easy, and a longer word would be a nice challenge.
