Welcome to Clapton Park. Come and find out what we do in our centre!
We are an inclusive setting, offering opportunities for all children to have access to the curriculum. Our no- blame culture ensures that all staff are responsible for creating a learning environment which is accessible to all. This contributes to promoting high quality and rich learning in our nursery. We have found that this also adds value to the learning journey of all children in our setting.
We consistently monitor and assess the children from when they first enter our nursery until they leave. This allows us to put support in place through internal and external interventions. We are aware that there are several barriers to learning and in order for us to ensure that all children make progress we use a variety of different approaches to support children with SEND. We use makatons/visuals in the nursery, social groups, language groups, play therapy and speech and language programs.
We work closely with the Area SENCO and other professionals such as, the Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, sensory practitioners and social workers. We also have a Centre SENCO and Learning Support Assistants in the rooms.
The Area SENCO supports us with identifying groups who are making less progress than their peers, prioritising these groups in the ISP and improving the interventions for these groups.
SEND Tracking allows us to analyse our children’s performance by tracking their data and monitoring their progress. We feel that we are able to add value through analysing where our children are at the beginning of the year to what they have achieved at the end of the academic year.
