Welcome to Clapton Park. Come and find out what we do in our centre!
During a parent consultation meeting our parents/carers were asked to share their views and opinions on how they are regularly updated on their children's progress. We also asked them to complete an online survey. After reviewing the feedback we concluded that it was important to them to have regular face to face discussions and conversations with the staff in the rooms rather than being given an abundance of written reports.
We therefore made changes in how we report and feedback to parents and this now includes four formal review meetings within each academic year. These review meetings take place in October, January, April and July. Parents are given the opportunity to have a discussion with their child's key worker to talk about how their child is doing in each area of learning and how best to support them further inside the nursery and at home.
Prior to the Review Meeting week, each room will display a dedicated timetable featuring 10-minute slots for in-person meetings on specific days. Your child’s key person will contact you directly to arrange a time that suits your schedule. These face-to-face sessions are a wonderful opportunity for us to connect in the nursery environment, allowing for a more personal and focused conversation about your child's progress.
Parents and carers are warmly encouraged to use this time to ask questions, raise any concerns, or share their own personal experiences of their child's learning journey at home. These meetings are a vital part of our partnership, ensuring that we are all working together to support your child’s unique development and celebrate their latest milestones.
The children who attend our nursery who have additional needs or an education, health and care plan (EHCP) will have additional designated meetings throughout the year with the Centre SENCO, room lead or key worker and any other external agencies. Parents/carers are informed of when these meetings are to take place in advance.
If parents/carers feel that they would like to arrange a meeting at anytime where there is a concern about their child's progress, these meetings are always welcome.
