Welcome to Clapton Park. Come and find out what we do in our centre!
In our nursery we offer an integrated 27 month review and carry out a progress check which we refer to as, ‘My Portrait At Two’. We have a designated 27 month review Lead to support and update parents/carers and staff.
Soon after a child’s second birthday their parent/carer will be sent a letter from us inviting them to a 27 month health and development review. The key worker will fill out a ‘My Portrait At Two’ document. The lead will then arrange an appointment with the health visiting team for the key worker, the parent/carer and the child to all attend. Due to covid-19 restrictions the 27 month review may take place over the phone instead of face to face.
The 27 month review is part of the Healthy Child Programme and is offered to all children aged 2. We know that age 2 is an important time for our children’s development as this is when they begin to talk, explore away from their caregiver and begin to play alongside and interact with other children.
Before the 27 month review takes place the parent/ carer will be asked to complete a questionnaire about what they have seen the child doing at home in terms of their emotional, mental and physical development. The questionnaire along with the parent/ carer and key worker knowledge will help the health professional to have a better understanding of the child’s progress within their developmental milestones. Questions about the child’s health, behaviour and learning, toilet training, diet, sleep and physical activity is also included. If a child needs help within these areas the health professional will be able to give suitable advice and the key worker can discuss next steps that can be applied in the nursery for support.
At Clapton Park Children’s Centre we provide specific curricular programs and activities to ensure our children are given the best opportunities to succeed and achieve their learning and development goals.
