Welcome to Clapton Park. Come and find out what we do in our centre!
Throughout Covid-19 we felt that it was essential to continue and extend our services to those children who were unable to attend due to self-isolation. We therefore, ensured that they continued to develop at home by providing a home learning pack which included a variety of writing tools, practical activities and creative resources.
Each room lead virtual learning sessions once a week allowing the children present in the nursery and the children at home to still interact and take part in fun learning activities. The rooms also created videos on Tapestry with practical activities based on our curriculum for all children. This then lead to parents sharing their children’s progress through photos, videos and comments whilst working in partnership with the staff at Clapton Park.
Every week the Centre Teacher sent differentiated weekly challenges to the children including heuristic play, discovery and exploration, phonics and activities which allowed all families to take part and to get involved.
After the lockdown period and the changes to the restrictions, we have continued to send out a weekly challenge to all of the children present or absent so that they can continue to build on the skills that they have learnt in the nursery.
We also have two pet hamsters in the nursery called 'Delboy' and 'Rodney' who the children love to visit and observe while in the nursery. They are also given the opportunity to take Delboy and Rodney home for the weekend to look after with their families as part of our home learning program.
