Welcome to Clapton Park. Come and find out what we do in our centre!
The Pips Room (0-2 years old)
In the Pips room, we focus on holistic learning that encourages children to explore their surroundings using their entire bodies. This means they can engage in sensory play, which is essential for their development.
We have a key person system in place, allowing each child to form a special bond with a specific practitioner. This relationship serves as a secure base, helping children feel safe and supported as they explore new experiences.
Children are encouraged to enhance their physical abilities through activities like messy play and opportunities to walk or crawl. We provide constant interactions that not only support their physical growth but also aid in language development.
Our little ones are motivated to feed themselves with minimal assistance, which has greatly boosted their confidence in this skill.
To further support brain development, we implement the ‘Five to Thrive’ approach. This method involves a series of relational activities; Talk, Play, Relax, Engage, and Respond that foster healthy brain growth in young children and help maintain optimal brain function.
We love to talk and interact with your babies at every chance we get! We use songs and stories as fun ways to help them develop their communication skills. By engaging them in these activities, we create an enjoyable learning environment.
We set up exciting activities that align with what your little ones are interested in. Joining them in their play not only encourages exploration but also helps them learn through hands-on experiences.
Understanding when babies need to relax is essential. We have daily nap times scheduled, lead calming sessions, and provide quiet spaces where they can unwind. If they seem unsettled, we’re there to comfort them and help them find their calm.
During our interactions, we make sure to give your babies eye contact, which helps strengthen our bond. We hold their hands as they learn to walk or support them during transitions, ensuring they feel secure and loved.
We pay close attention to what captures your child’s interest and encourage them to explore those areas further. Our body language shows that we are listening, and we respond appropriately to their needs and cues.
By creating this supportive atmosphere, we aim to foster your baby’s growth and development in a loving way.
