World History

Parent Information

Overview:

This course examines the major events and turning points of World History from ancient times to the present. Students investigate the development of classical civilizations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, and they explore the economic, political, and social revolutions that have transformed human history. The use of recurring themes, such as social history, democratic government, and the relationship between history and the arts, allows students to draw connections between the past and the present, among cultures, and among multiple perspectives.

My Advice to Parents:

First, one of the best ways to help your student succeed this semester is to keep current with their progress. I will be glad to update you on grades, missing assignments, attendance, and discipline in response to an email or phone call from you. The Parent Portal is the quickest, easiest way to keep up with grades, attendance, discipline records, and other information for your student. Be sure to pick up your ID for the Parent Portal from the Guidance Department if you do not have one already!!

Second, use my website! It can be a great tool to stay up-to-date on what your student is doing in class as well as what they miss when they are absent. I generally tell my students to check the website if they are absent and see me when they return for clarification on missed work.

Does Your Student Need Help?

Help sessions are available by appointment before or after school, as well as during the school day.  I strongly encourage any student seeking study tips or content review to see me.

Need to Contact Me?

The best way to contact me is through email. I will be able to get back to you within 24 hours. You can also call my school phone number and I will return your call as soon as possible. All of my contact information is located on the home page of this website.
