Friday Fun!  Today, we had our first Friday Fun end-of-day event. Students chose an activity for about the last 30 minutes of the day.  Many students and staff members enjoyed ending the week having fun together!  We will be getting more ideas from kids on activities they would like for next Friday. =) 

8th grade Career Day and Interview Project - Today, we were so lucky to have more than a dozen GMS Alum come to GMS to talk with the eighth graders about a variety of career focus areas (engineering, medical, communications, math and money, video games and human resources).  Then in the afternoon, the Alum helped "interview" the eighth graders in a mock interview for a position at GMS, which was part of the research project.

Next week is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week with Tuesday being the "official" Teacher/Staff Appreciation Day!  We have so much gratitude for the people who have the privilege to teach our children each and every day.  Thank you to all of our GMS teachers for their hard work!  Next Wednesday, is also School Nurse Appreciation Day!  Thank you to Mrs. Wilson for keeping us healthy and taking care of us when we don't feel well. 

Grub Hub or other food deliveries - Recently, we have had an increase in food deliveries for students. The school district will not collect orders from food delivery services (e.g. GrubHub, UberEats, DoorDash, or any other restaurant that delivers food/drinks). Nor are students allowed to share food, so there is no reason to purchase lunch for a group of students. 

Grab and Go Lunches on Half-Days - We have a half-day coming up on Thursday, May 16th. Please complete this form (Grab and Go Lunch Form) for every child you would like to have a sack lunch made for that day.

• This form will close on Friday, May 10th at noon.  

• The cost of the sack lunch is the same as the regular school day lunch ($4.00, reduced $0.40) and includes a vegetarian (soy/sunbutter and jelly) sandwich, a vegetable, a fruit and drink.

Next Thursday and Friday, several of our eighth graders will spend time at Camp MacLean in Burlington, Wisconsin!

Please fill out the tryout form (linked in the QR code on the flyer) and come to tryouts!  Important summer dates for after tryouts are listed in that form. Being a Vikette is a multi-season commitment.

REMINDER - 8th-grade parents - End-of-year information - Eighth grade parents, you received an email today at 3:00 pm - IMPT - 8th grade End of Year and Graduation Information for May 2024, which contained important information about 8th grade end-of-year activities! 

• 8th grade parent letter - Quarter 4, graduation and baby pictures 2024! It is PACKED with information, including electronic permission slips and a couple of other "to do's" for parents.

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open for families of returning Golf School District 67 students.

To get started, you will need to complete the following steps:

1. Log in to your Infinite Campus Portal account, select “More” from the bottom left corner, and click “Online Registration.”

2. Choose “Existing Student Registration” and click “Begin Registration” to review and update your household and contact information.

Ongoing reminders... Thank you for helping your middle schooler remember these three things EVERY DAY:

1. 1. 1. Bring a fully CHARGED Chromebook to school.

      2. Wear their school lanyard and student ID to school.

      3. Arrive ON TIME to school. Students should be sitting in their seats by 8:20 am (best to drop off by 8:10 am).
