The Year 5 students and teachers traveled to The People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR) to explore how Indonesia's domestic issues are resolved through international relationships. Students explored the DPR Museum, the General Assembly room, and met with Pak Ir. H. Achmad Hafisz Tohir for a question and answer session on the structure and function of Parliament and how Indonesia supports a positive collaborative relationship within international organizations. A very special thank you to the Year 5 Parents for their support during this trip.
The Year 5 students celebrated their learning by participating in the Model United Nations Summit as the culmination activity in the unit of inquiry, "How We Organize Ourselves". Over the course of the last six weeks, the students inquired through central idea of how countries represent their own domestic interest within international organizations and researched a given country's historical perspective, economic and social standing, and domestic interest in resolving the global crisis of poverty, terrorism, and climate action. The Year 5 students wrote Position Papers, and Opening Speeches outlining their country's stance on the given topics below:

Topic: Measure to promote the conservation of mountain and forest ecosystems, including their biodiversity.
Poverty:
Council: Economic and Social Council
Topic : Measures to increasing basic resources and services to support communities vulnerable to conflict-related disasters, and those impacted by economic, social, and educational disadvantages.
Safety and Security:
Council: Security Council (SC)
Topic: Addressing transnational organization to combat terrorist groups.
