Have you ever dreamt as a warrior? Come and see the Year 3 students journey as little scientists. Under the Approaching to Learning (ATL) skills in the unit of How the World Works, we identify different forms and sources of energy, being risk-takers in researching and conducting our own scientific experiments, and investigating energy consumption and conservation both at home and at school. Through various learning engagements, we have become more knowledgeable and we tried our best to conserve energy in our daily life.
Our Field Trip to Museum Listrik dan Energi Baru TMII
By Alana 3A
On 4th February 2020, Year 3 went to Museum Energy Taman Mini. The teacher gave us a task to do there.
When we arrived at the Museum Energy, we followed our guides. Then, we watched a short movie about electricity and we wrote notes. After that, we investigated different types of energy. The guide told us different types of energy like electricity, biogas, nuclear, and much more. We pressed different buttons that activated different things that use energy.
Then, we saw a dancing robot. The dancing robot uses energy to power up. We saw a solar-powered pan that we can cook with. After that, we wrote all the stuff that the guide told us. We had a challenge in that we could not make the wire touch the other wire or it would make a loud noise. We also tried to get electrocuted but the machine did not hurt. The electrocution was harmless. We also saw a light that is powered up by water.
It was time to go back to school, so we went to the bus and went back to school.
How the World Works Assembly
By Kinar 3A
On the 14th of February, Year 3 had assembly! It talked about different sources and saving energy!
When students and teachers went inside the theater we started! First, we had a lot of student actions. Zelvy had a water-powered clock, Gregor had a book about energy, Alana and Igo made a circuit. Adrian, Jaden, Milany, and I brought magnets and we made 3D shapes. Then there were more actions from other classes. After that, plants and dinosaurs went on the stage then Gregor threw a big ball as the meteor. Then Malik, Kinan, and Zakky worked as miners, cars, buses, and trains come to get fossil fuels. The hydroelectric power (water energy) came, then wind, after that biogas and finally solar. After that came a family that saves energy, then came a family that does not save energy. Then all of us danced! That was the end!
