To promote open-mindedness and an awareness of different cultures, GJS held a Chinese New Year Celebration for the whole school on Friday 31st January. Students demonstrated the learner profile attribute of risk-taker by presenting the knowledge and skills they have acquired in relation to the Chinese culture and language.
For the assembly, some Primary students from Year 3 and Year 4 performed a dance which combined both modern and traditional Chinese movements. The ASA choir also sang a Chinese New Year song called 'Gongxi Gongxi', and some Year 7 students performed a version of the lion dance, in addition to the Lion Dance performance by the Model Lion Dance Association.
We would like to thank and congratulate students who were involved in the event and the preparation of the celebration.
