On January 31st 2020, Year 2 had an assembly. The Assembly is connected to our unit and the story of the assembly is taken from the Curious Garden book by Peter Brown.
We are really happy that Students showed a commitment to memorize their lines for the dialogues and also a commitment to remember their dancing part and movements. Students were also showing a risk-taker profile when they had to act out on the stage. Students have shown a collaborative skill by working together in group and also collaborate with peers and teachers. As the performance goes, students were really enthusiast and looked really happy to be on stage.
As our central idea for this unit is Plants support other living things and play an important role, we focus on the Interdependence and how the connection is being made between plants, animals, and human. To support their learning engagement, students use the media app of stop motion to create their own stop motion video.
Students showed their creativity in creating the story board and transfer their story to video through stop motion video app. Students were also showing a good communication skill as they worked with peers and communicated their thoughts and ideas and elaborated them to become one good story that represents their understanding of interdependence or how the connection between plants, animals and human in a real life. As a result, students had showed a really good videos with a really creative and fun story.
We can see that students really enjoyed this activity so much!!!
