Dear Community Members,
As I approach the end of my tenure as Head of this esteemed institution, I am reminded of the vital importance of transition in education. Just as each academic year brings new challenges and opportunities for growth, so too does the transition from one leadership era to the next.
Transition is not merely a change in administration but a time for reflection, evaluation, and renewal. It provides an opportunity to assess our strengths and weaknesses, to celebrate our achievements, and to set new goals for the future. Research in educational leadership emphasizes the significance of smooth transitions for maintaining organisational stability and effectiveness. It is essential that we ensure continuity while also embracing change, fostering collaboration, and inspiring innovation.
As I have used this past year in preparation for passing the torch to my successor, I am confident that our community will continue to thrive, guided by our shared commitment to excellence and our dedication to the success of every student. Further, I fully trust the transitional structures and activities that we have embraced this year have supported a leadership transition that continues to ensure that Global Jaya School and those it serves and supports continue its journey of growth and development.
Earlier this month, we launched our annual comprehensive school-wide survey. This survey, distributed to key stakeholder groups, including students, parents/guardians, faculty, and staff, is an important mechanism of data collection regarding our ongoing school improvement journey. It has served as a consistent tool over the past 4 years and is aligned with WASC accreditation standards:
A. Organization for student learning
B. Curriculum, instruction, and assessment
C. Support for Student Social-Emotional and Academic growth
D. School Culture, Child Protection, and Parent / Community Involvement
The survey data, once analysed, is essential to supporting our ongoing school evaluation, development, and improvement efforts, ensuring that we remain focused on increasing student achievement.
While each parent on file receives a link to complete the survey, only ONE is asked to be completed and submitted on behalf of the family as a whole. Please inform us if you encounter problems or do not receive the survey. Prior to emailing, please check the spam or junk email folders. If this does not resolve the matter, please send an email to headofschool@globaljaya.com to let us know.
Reminders to prompt competition and thank you emails acknowledge survey completion and submission have been scheduled as well. If you do not receive a thank you email, your survey has not been completed and submitted. The survey closes May 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm.
