Parrots

I chose the Parrot as a focal point from the Albrecht Durer print due to it's significance in my life. A parrot is a tropical bird, most being native to South America which is where my mother is from. She grew up with having one as a pet, among with them living in the trees around their home in Guyana. (my grandma still had one when I went to visit her for the first time).

Furthermore, not only does the parrot have a relation to me personally but they're also a very colourful species. Colour is something very important to me in my work and when looking at Albrecht Durer's print there is nothing but black and white. However by the addition of the tropical bird it opens up a range of colours and brightness which I will be including in this project.

I researched the main Parrots of Guyana in my sketchbook.
