Because of Covid we obviously couldn't have a normal Graduates end of year exhibition this year so we decided to make a virtual one!
All 6 of us collaborated to create Stiwdio21.com
It was a very interesting sometimes stressful process putting a website together. I personally had no experience in it so everything was new to me. However Jess McGee took the leadership and did a wonderful job of coordinating the website and telling us what we needed to do.
We began by choosing a website provider to go with and after looking at what was available, wordpress was the winner. It was the cheapest and we had a member of the group that new how to navigate it. Next came picking a name. We went through quite a bit of names before we settled. We began with FdA which is our course name but it's also the food and drugs admiration so we couldn't use it.From there we branched out on art & design which turned into 'art studio' and then 'studio21' because of the year and finally I suggested we translate it to Welsh which is unique to us and the name was born.
Then it was on to designing a Logo. Morgan took charge on this and came up with some great ideas. Once we narrowed them down Catherine took them into photoshop to digitalise them and the winner was the logo you see here.
We spent countless meetings then on website layout and design choices. We wanted to keep the website pretty clean and crisp as all of our individual works are so different to each other. Then it was up to us to individually write our own statements and those got sent off to be translated to Welsh. All that was left to do was to finish our exhibition now.
Here is our opening page
Once everything was up we just had to upload our photos and film a walk through. Jess once again did a great job of putting it all together
Make sure to check out the website and view our exhibition!
