Connect with your student(s). Preschedule meetings every 1-2 weeks by phone, email, or video conference. Regular and frequent communication can often help to identify any issues early on.

**FALL 2020 TERM AND BEYOND** Consider virtual simulation assigned by course coordinator if the student does not have clinical placement. NURO 6511 students without placement, or delayed by more than 3 weeks, will require simulations for their first two SOAP notes.
Provide feedback on clinical assignments directly into Canvas. You can annotate all feedback directly onto the submission. Please review all clinical assignments within 1 week post submission.

Tip: Make sure the students are on track with course requirements.
SECTION 1: Case Log Highlights (by Day/Week/Month)
Tip: Make sure that students are LINKING cases for all relevant case types.
Tip: Make sure student is progressing from observation to involvement in the patient care. Hands-on care experience is essential for students to become independent clinicians.
SECTION 2: Time Logs
Tip: In ambulatory settings WHNP ambulatory hours should equal shift time.
Tip: Make sure hours add up correctly (ie., WHNP ambulatory, triage, and in-patient time combined can never exceed shift time.)
Tip: Make sure that the student is on track to meet the hours outlined in the course syllabus.
Tip: Make sure that hours logged reflect case logs entered.
SECTION E: CETs in EASI: Evaluation & Survey Instrument
Tip: Make sure that CETs represent the course(s) that the student is currently working to complete.
Tip: Make sure the student is progressing throughout term in their self and preceptor ratings.
Document your contact with the student and Typhon review in your CFA Workbook.
If your student completing their FINAL clinical course and anticipates completing in the middle of an academic term, be advised that all clinical documentation in Canvas and Typhon must be complete and credited by the CFA by the 18th of the month in order for their AMCB letter to go out the same month. Starting May 2023, the Registrar will no longer offer monthly degree conferrals. Degrees will be awarded May, August, and December. NM students will be able to sit for AMCB boards within 2-4 weeks after their letter is sent however their degree will not be conferred until the end of the academic term. NCC requires degree conferral before sitting for boards.
