Step 1: Watch an Overview Video to See What the Tool Can Do
Step 2: Create your site.
Step 3: Think about how you will organize your site:
a) Keep the Home page as an introduction. Post your picture, an introductory video and some basic information. Post your office hours.
b) Suggestion for Secondary Teachers: create a page for each subject you teach. Then create a subpage for each week under that subject. Click here to see a blank sample.
Suggestions for Elementary Teachers: create a page for "Learning Activities. Then create a subpage for each week. Click here to see a sample.
Step 3: Create the pages you will need based on how you will organize your site.
Step 4: Create the content your students will need for the first week. You can simply type the content on the page, insert a Google Doc, insert YouTube videos, links to websites, and attach PDF documents.
Step 5: Post the content for the first week.
Step 6: Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each week.

Very quick video showing you how to create a site and then how to publish that site to the internet so your students can see it.
Once logged in, click on the '+' to create your site.
Give your site a name, in the top right corner.
Give the page a name in the centre of the header at the top of the page.
Click on Insert, in the top right to insert a text box. Start typing in your content.
Click on Publish in the top right corner of the page to publish your site to the internet for your students to see.
It is important to always remember to publish your changes. If you do not publish them, your students will not see them.
Login to your site.
Click on the word "Pages" located near the top right corner.
Then click on the '+' located at the bottom right corner.
Give your page a name, and click done.

Give your page a name, and click done.
On the right hand side, you will see a list of your pages. Click and hold on the page that you would like to make a subpage. Drag that page on top of the page you would like to attach it to.
Click on "Pages" in the top right corner, then click on the page that you would like to edit.
Click on "Insert" located in the top right corner.
Select the layout you would like to use under the "Layout" section located on the right hand side.
Add text, images vides and titles as desired.
You can add as many layout sections as you need.
Goto the page you want to add an image or video to.
Click on "Insert" located in the top right corner.
Click on the "Image" button in the top right.
Browse to upload a photo from your computer or search and insert one from Google Images.
To insert a YouTube video, click on "Insert" and then scroll down until you find YouTube, on the righthand side.
Click on "YouTube." You may search for a YouTube video that someone else has uploaded, or choose "Uploaded" to insert a video that you have created.
You may also use quick "Layouts" to insert images and videos.
Goto the page where you want to insert the Google Drive Folder, Doc, or Slides Presentation.
Click on "Insert" in the top right corner.
Select either "Drive," "Docs" or "Slides" from the righthand side.
Browse to the folder, doc or presentation that you would like to insert and click insert.
Sign into padlet.com or the Padlet app.
Create a personalized Padlet for your class.
Select "Share" in the top right hand corner.
Select "Embed in your blog or your website"
Copy the Full Embed option.
Open your Google Site and insert an "Embed" feature onto your page.
Select "Embed Code" and paste the code that was copied from Padlet.
