Word work: Read and write spelling words on the practice sheet. Illustrate and cut out sight words on the back.(pages 1 and 2 of packet)
Phonics: practice the "-ank" ZIPPY SPEEDY roll and write, page 7
Writing: Do the tracing practice and the lowercase ABC's. This is page 3 and 4 of the packet or printables.
Read 20 minutes, including the new white books. Look for beginning blends and sight words to underline.

Read: The vocabulary reader "Spots" from above. Notice the yellow words are our sight words this week! This book is also in most students' book folders.
Phonics: scavenger hunt., pages 12 &13 in packet. Students will read these words in Seesaw
Word work: Roll and write "It's a Race" word practice. This is pages 14 & 15 in the packet. Students should have a dice in the ziplock bag with their math counters. Kids should know to READ each word before writing and that they only need to write words 3 times.
Read 20 minutes. Practice white books.

Read: The puzzle stories with ch and sh. (page 13) Highlight those letters sounds. Write numbers to order pictures.
Phonics: Watch the blend video and above and review the video with cut and paste directions. Do the blend sort (page 13 of packet/printables). Students can cut and sort if they want to, or they can read the big word, then draw a line to the blend in begins with. Then read each small word and draw a line to the picture that matches it.
Read 20 minutes, at least 10 on Reading A-Z. The link and passwords are below. Students have used this in class. They go to "level up" and listen and read to books at their reading level.
Word work: Watch the sight words story video on slide 2 (or click here). Have students read the sight word stories in their printed sight word packet.

Spelling test: Print the spelling test form. An adult orally gives spelling test. Child records words on the spelling test form (page 16 of or packet. Submit a photo of spelling test on Seesaw
Read: Comprehension check #2 (Page 6). Students should find the words in the story as they answer the questions.
Read with an adult for 20 minutes. Practice sounding out and then "sliding" through words. Look for sight words that you know. Slowly slide though words you may have guessed to make sure the letters match the word(this is "cross-checking")

Zoo Phonics- Children should practice their letter names and sounds each day. Print the Zoo phonics chart to refer to when children are reading and writing. Watch the video to learn the actions that go with each letter. Then practice on your own to see how quickly children can remember and make the letter sounds.
