WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING NEXT WEEK?
In Language Arts, students will analyze how the author uses structure and features to achieve specific purposes and compare and contrast how an author presents different ideas on the same topics.
In Math, students will determine greatest common factors and least common multiples using a variety of strategies to make sense of applicable problems.
In Accelerated Math, students will write and evaluate numerical expressions involving positive rational bases and whole-number exponents.
In Science, students will ask questions to determine where water is located on Earth’s surface (i.e., oceans, rivers, lakes, swamps, groundwater, aquifers, and ice) and communicate the relative proportion of water at each location using a circle/pie graph and plan and carry out an investigation to illustrate the role of the sun’s energy in atmospheric conditions that lead to the cycling of water.
In Social Studies, students will describe how Canada's location, climate, and natural resources impact trade and affect where people live by analyzing graphs and diagrams to draw conclusions and make generalizations and explain the causes, effects and solutions of pollution and acid rain in Canada to include the Great Lakes by identifying and explaining the issues and/or problems and alternative solutions.
