• WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING NEXT WEEK?

• • In Language Arts, students will analyze multiple purposes within a single text and explain how authors use expository techniques to organize and develop ideas within an informational text. 

• • In Math, students will divide fractions by fractions. The Unit 1 Test will be on Wednesday, 8/27. students will then add and subtract decimals. 

• • In Accelerated Math, students will add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals. 

• • In Science, students will plan and carry out an investigation of the properties of minerals and how minerals contribute to rock composition and construct an explanation of how to classify rocks by their formation and how rocks change through geologic processes. 

• • In Social Studies, students will locate key places on maps of Europe. They will also explain the causes, effects, and solutions of acid rain in Germany and air pollution in the United Kingdom.

We have finished three weeks of middle school, but as a parent, I still have questions. What is my next step?

Our teachers will host a night to answer all of your questions! Curriculum Night is Thursday, August 28th. Begin the evening at 6:00 in your child's homeroom class. From there, you will receive directions on how to follow your child's schedule to hear from each of his or her four content area teachers and two connections teachers. Each stop will teach you something about the school as a whole, like how to use Google Classroom or Parent Square, Promotion Requirements, or Grading Procedures. You will also learn about each teacher's expectations and roadmap for a successful school year. It is a fast-paced night filled with lots of information. We would love to see all of you there!
