Our Period 1 classes, also known as Academic 1, begin this week. Academic 1 is an extension of our core learning time where students receive additional supports based on their needs. Students may be placed in an intervention class for math or reading based on their iReady scores. Others may be placed in extension classes for math or science. Students may have classes that support social/emotional growth or organizational skills. Finally, others may take a class in an area of interest such as the arts, business, or fitness. These classes DO count as a grade but DO NOT count toward your child's promotion requirements for 6th grade.
