Dear Families,
This week, students at GSMS will be taking the midyear i‑Ready Diagnostic Assessments in Reading and Math.
i‑Ready is a computer‑based assessment that measures each student’s current academic skills and growth. The diagnostic adapts to your child’s responses and helps teachers identify strengths as well as areas where additional support may be needed. Just as importantly, it allows us to track progress over time.
At GSMS, i‑Ready data is one of the tools we use to:
Support instructional planning and progress monitoring
Make decisions about Academic 1 course placement
Inform gifted referrals
Because this assessment provides valuable information, we encourage students to take their time, stay focused, and do their very best. This is not a test students study for—rather, it is a snapshot of what they currently know and can do.
Thank you for your continued support. Please encourage your child to approach the assessment with a positive mindset and give their best effort.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
