WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING NEXT WEEK?
In Language Arts, students will recognize and explain the argumentative techniques used to create a strong argument, locate evidence in print and digital sources to support a central idea, and identify the types of evidence an author uses and explain how the evidence used by the author impacts credibility.
In Math, students will solve everyday problems involving percents.
In Accelerated Math, students will find unknown coordinates of polygons on the coordinate plane, determine the side length of polygons in the coordinate plane where two ordered pairs have the same x-coordinate or y-coordinate, and find the area and perimeter of squares and rectangles on a coordinate plane. The summative assessment will be on Tuesday.
In Science, students will ask questions to compare and contrast the Earth’s crust, mantle, inner and outer core, including temperature, density, thickness, and composition. Students will also construct an argument using maps and data collected to support a claim of how fossils show evidence of the changing surface and climate of Earth.
In Social Studies, students will explain and compare/contrast citizen participation in autocratic and democratic governments and describe and compare/contrast the two predominant forms of democratic governments: parliamentary and presidential by comparing similarities and differences. The unit assessment will be on Wednesday and Thursday.

Fall is in full swing, and we’re officially halfway through the October! It’s a great time to reflect on the progress our students have made and encourage them to keep giving their best effort each day.
Middle school is a time of growth, discovery, and learning through challenges. Whether your child is adjusting to new routines or diving into new subjects, we’re proud of the resilience and enthusiasm they’ve shown so far. Let’s keep that momentum going!
🎉 Special Announcement: This Thursday is Pajama Day! Students are invited to wear their favorite cozy pajamas to school for $2. All proceeds will support upcoming student activities. Please remember that dress code standards still apply.
📣 Important Reminder: This week is Parent-Teacher Conference Week. We will have early release on Wednesday and Thursday, with school dismissed at 1:15 PM on both days.
As we move into the second half of the semester, we encourage students to stay organized, ask for help when needed, and continue striving for their personal best. And as always, thank you for your support and partnership.
