GT/A PD options presentation
Melanie recently attended a GT conference in which information was given about a requirement for counselors:
Administrators and counselors who have authority for service decisions for G/T students are required to receive six hours of professional development that includes nature and needs of G/T students and service options for G/T students (TAC §89.2(4); State Plan 4.3C). Any campus or district-level administrator (including the superintendent) or counselor who has authority to make scheduling, hiring, or program decisions should have the six hours of training (TAC §89.2(4); State Plan 4.3C).
What does this mean?
Counselors will need to complete a minimum of 6 hours by the end of the summer. Melanie has created this GT/A PD options presentation to help you obtain what you need with a variety of options, including online courses. Let me know if you have any questions.
includes the following:

** All testing materials will be ordered by the district, no need to place any orders at the campus level.

Counselors should have their manual so just order tests, this will save a little money.
