This page will house information to help prepare for credit advancement.
Students may take courses for credit advancement through the following sources:
Forney ISD Summer Credit Advancement (offerings limited)
Forney ISD Credit by Exams (offered during school year on specific dates/times with minimum grade requirement)
Texas Tech
Summer Credit Advancement Opportunities offered by other school districts or community colleges
Odysseyware Academy (this is different from Forney ISD Credit Advancement)
Students who wish to complete a Forney ISD summer credit advancement course or credit by exam course need to contact their school counselor for specific information, timelines, offerings and dates.
Students participating in NCAA should double check the Eligibility Requirements set by NCAA before taking any course. The website is: http://www.ncaa.org. All NCAA questions should be directed to NCAA. Students participating in NCAA who wish to take courses through Odysseyware Academy will need to contact their school counselor and district representatives, Stormy Lemond and Robyn Pearce.
Cost of credit advancement course work is the responsibility of the parent/student.
To ensure students have ample time to complete courses, students may only register for two credit advancement courses, which is equivalent to one high school credit. Once these courses are completed he/she may register for additional credit advancement courses with the summer school administrator.
Credit earned in distance learning courses, summer school, correspondence courses, and dual-credit college courses not taken on the high school campus shall not be included in the GPA calculation. Click here to view the current High School Course Selection Guide.
